Lots Turn Out For Parks Appreciation Day

Most notably is the Curtis boys lacrosse team, which has pitched in for four consecutive years.

Lots of things have and are going on at as we roll into spring.

The baseball program has over 75 teams, 75 coaches, as well as the same number of assistant coaches. The sponsorship of the teams is at an all-time high with more than 50 percent sponsored at this time. We are very grateful for the number of individuals and businesses that stepped up to sponsor one or more teams this season.

had 98 volunteers at Curran Orchard and Cirque Parks.  Thank you to all those who gave their time to cleaning up these two great parks.

The Curtis lacrosse varsity team, under the direction of Scott Bloom, for the last four years has supported Parks Appreciation Day. Last Saturday they had a game with Puyallup () so they couldn’t offer their hard work to a park.

That didn't stop them, however, from doing it a week later at Adriana Hess.  Around 9 a.m., Saturday morning, 38 of the players and their coaches showed up to move and spread bark, drag out cut down trees and do a complete spruce-up of this native plant park.

Although Thelma Gilmore, the patron of this park, no can no longer participate in work parties or even attend, she would be proud of all the effort this team has done to improve this wonderful little park. (Take a look at some of the pictures from the clean-up)

Thank you again, Scott and all your team for a job well done! Oh, by the way, last year on Parks Appreciation Day, they spread over 100 cubic yards of bark at Colegate Playground!
