Learn About Area's Logging History Next Week At University Place Library

The films show Schafer Brothers Logging Company operations in the 1920's.

People will view historic logging films during a free event at University Place Pierce County Library, 3609 Market Place W., on Thursday, July 21, at 7 p.m.

The archival films show Schafer Brothers Logging Company operations in the 1920's. The company commissioned the films during its peak as one of the largest lumber businesses in the Northwest.

Peter Reid, a member of the Schafer family, will show the restored films and discuss the history of the company.
