How To Fill UP For Less

Find out how to find and seek the cheapest gas prices without burning it, and see where the highest prices are in the United States.

I like knowing that University Places doesn’t have the highest gas prices around. I know that may be a little twisted, but there is something about paying over $200 to fill up my two vehicles that makes me twitch.

I’m fighting back and planning on buying the “cheap” gas when I can, and I know how to find the best price around.

GasBuddy.com is my new friend.

Not only can I see the gas price maps at any given moment for the entire United States, I can also zoom into the map and see counties and even streets.

Right now, I know that the prices at the on Bridgeport and 27th are 10 cents cheaper than the 76 station on Jackson and 19th.

And, if I want the next cheapest reported price, I’d have to head out to the Fred Meyer on 19th in Tacoma, where I can get 10 cents off per gallon with my rewards card.  Some Shell locations, such as the one at Cirque Drive and South Orchard in University Place are also allowing you to use your Fred Meyer or QFC rewards for a 10-cent discount. That’s a gas perk.

When I’m feeling blue about the prices in University Place, I always feel a little better when I use the map to investigate the prices in other states.

I am glad I do not pay $3.95 like residents in San Francisco, but I fear we may come to see that price soon enough.

If only University Place could be so lucky like Billings, Montana. They only fork out $3.19 a gallon.

I will continue to monitor our gas prices and reminisce when prices were 88 cents a gallon and I could fill up for $10. I long for the day when I can fill up my tank for under $40.

Keep a watchful eye and make GasBuddy your new friend.
