Grab and Go Kid's Planner, March 9th

Looking for something to do this week with the kids? Don't worry. Patch has got your back.

This week's installment of our guide to kid-friendly activities includes sing-a-longs, sports and the theater. Oh yeah, there's a great Saint Paddy's Day event at the zoo.

St. Patrick's Day at the Zoo

  • When/Where: 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 12 at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, 5400 North Pearl St., Tacoma.
  • Why Go: You and the entire family can go celebrate St. Patrick's Day a few days early at the zoo. They will be treating their animals including sea otters, elephants and meerkats with green toys and treats. If you're a Pierce County resident, you'll pay $2 less than the regular admission fee.
  • Price: $7.75-$13.75

  • When/Where: 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at Impact Sports Academy.
  • Why Go: Enjoy activities likes jogging, tennis, pickle ball, music dancing, board games and more with others in the community.
  • Price: $25 a month for club fee or $5 to drop in.

 

  • When/Where:  5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays at the .
  • Why Go: An excellent entry level group lesson to teach your teen how to strum some good foundation tunes.
  • Price: $75 (appropriate for ages 10-14 years old).

 

  • When/Where: 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 3 p.m. Sunday at Paradise Theater.
  • Why Go: This Tony awarded, family friendly musical comedy is appropriate viewing for the whole family and an excellent excuse to make it to the theater.
  • Price: $10-$22.

 

Kids Koncerts: Singing Safari

  • When/Where: 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Theatre on the Square.
  • Why Go: Sing along and dance with classic hits with this entertaining trio!
  • Price: $5 (including babes in arms, appropriate for ages Pre-K to 8 years old).

 

Wee Ones Weekly

  • When/Where:  9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Tacoma Children's Museum.
  • Why Go: Singing, crafts and fun to be had for toddlers and their parents. There's a theme each week.
  • Price: $7 per family plus museum admission.
