The family oriented event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and it allows the community to gather with family pets during a morning of learning and fun.

"It will be an exciting day with canine costume contests and other fun activities," said Meredith Smith, recreation supervisor.

The featured attraction is a 1.5-mile or 3-mile walk. Also included are "ruffle" drawings, free pet treats and specialty item vendor booths. Participants will receive doggy bags and bandannas for their four-legged partners while supplies last.

Costs is $15 for the first dog and $5 for the second. On-site registration is $20 and begins at 9:30 a.m. T-shirts are available for $10.

Registration information and complete event details are available by visiting the Parks website at www.piercecountywa.org/parks.
