This weekly column is dedicated to giving you five great local deals each week that will help your family save money, and, since we are doing the legwork for you, save time, too.
Your guide for this low-cost journey is a self-proclaimed coupon queen who can empty the Baby Gap’s sales racks and the cereal aisle at Safeway for mere dollars.

1. The Ram
The deal: Kids eat for $1 on Mondays at the Lakewood location with the purchase of one adult entrée per child. Options include fish and chips, chicken fingers, a cheese quesadilla or hamburger, and normally are $5.99. All meals come with a vegetable appetizer, beverage, side dish and scoop of ice cream.

2. Barnes & Noble
The deal: Receive 30 percent off all Eric Carle books with this in-store coupon. Popular titles include “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” and the “Brown Bear, Brown Bear” series, and the board-book versions are the perfect size for Easter baskets or in a set as a birthday present.

3. Umi Shoes
The deal: Get $10 off all purchases of these premium shoes for infants, toddlers and children by using promo code SPRING10. Free shipping and returns are offered on all orders. Umi Shoes are made of non-toxic, drum-dried leather and other environmentally friendly components.

4. Target
The deal: Start a baby registry in-store and receive a welcome-baby kit containing catalogs, coupons and samples.

5. Walgreens
The deal: Kids can get a free Gogo’s Crazy Bones toy during Walgreens’ national giveaway of
1 million of the bouncy mini-toys on Saturday morning. The collectable figurines, recommended for ages 4 and up, can be thrown like a ball. There are 80 different characters in five colors.
