Visit the UP Spring Flower Show and Plant Sale, Enviro Fair This Weekend

See exhibits on sustainable yard and garden care during the Spring Flower Show and Plant Sale, this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Homestead Park.

Interested in composting, rain gardens and native plants? Need to lift your spirits with a bit of natural color?

The two-day Spring Flower Show and Plant Sale, sponsored by the Friends of Homestead Park and the Peninsula Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society, is UP's annual kickoff to the spring gardening season. There, you'll find a wide variety of roses, fuchsias, dahlias and ferns, plus one of the largest Rhododendron truss displays on the West Coast. 

Visit the Spring Flower Show and Plant Sale on Saturday, April 27, 2013, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or Sunday, April 28, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at City Hall.

The EnviroFair will feature exhibits on sustainable yard and garden care. You can also learn about rain gardens, backyard composting, organic fertilizers, native plants, and University Place’s new community gardens.

EnviroFair will be located in the grass area just south of the Spring Flower Show and Plant Sale and City Hall, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 27.
