Bites Nearby: The GreenSpot Is About More Than Tea

Soak in some local art and tea at local destination The GreenSpot.

Not yet adopted by the busy hub of Bridgeport Way, in fact very easily missed, is .

We've seen the illuminated open sign in the window and have all wondered, "What lies inside?" Well I'll tell you, it's worth making a pit stop.

Placed on the ground floor of the Alicia Condominiums, you can find a variety of paninis, sandwiches and salads served alongside quality loose leaf teas and coffee. Also featured are teapots and tea accessories for the tea connoisseur or a marvelous gift for that tea lover you know.

It was those sandwiches, more specifically the restaurant's panini grill, that caused some friction with the city over proper ventilation last year. The two sides worked it out, however. The solution rested in this simple fix: the owner agreed not to butter the outside of the bread, which created the smoke.

Even without the butter, the sandwiches are still delish.

But this place is about more than a simple and delightful menu and tea goodness. The GreenSpot serves as a gallery as well. Exquisite art adorns the walls creating a sanctuary of sorts. And right off of your busy commute.

So next time you drive past this place, I suggest pulling in and enjoy a cozy, chic spot for tasty sandwiches and warm tea. You'll be glad you did.
