Fine dining at it's finest found in a sister city near you.

You don't need to surround yourself with downtown traffic to enjoy fine dining and the like in the heart of a city.

Just a bit off the concrete path in downtown Tacoma, within a skip of the Grand Cinema, is Maxwell's Speakeasy on Sixth and St. Helen's Avenue.

The ambiance is a casual sort of fine dining, no jacket and slacks necessary, though you could easily get away with it, as well as your average, everyday jeans and tee.

The menu features mouth watering entrees like their apple cider brined grilled pork chop, a succulent hickory smoked bacon wrapped filet mignon, or the ever famous Walker Burger. The latter is half-pound beast is topped with crisp bacon, white cheddar and a delicious grilled onion aioli.

Their happy hour options don't skimp on the quality either. Half-priced appetizers and lounge food include the beloved sautéed mushroom bruschetta and the pork sliders, slathered in an aged balsamic bbq sauce served with fries and a slaw.

The wine menu is vast (half priced bottles, under $100, Tuesdays and Thursdays is a perfect excuse to indulge) and with specialty cocktails featuring fresh squeezed juices and exotic infused spirits it's difficult not to sit in awe as you consider your culinary and artful concoction pairings.

For those looking to throw a party, banquet, business meeting that outshines your friends Maxwell's has a hidden room for private dining. Overlooking the restaurant and street below your guests can enjoy the classy retro decor and soak in the good conversation while nibbling on delectable eats.
