Bites Nearby: Affairs Cafe

Our University Place staple for delectable meals and treats is popular, but don't tell anyone about it.

has been a longtime staple to our University Place community.

It also remains a relative secret to some of our neighboring cities. Divulging this secret could create a long waiting list to dine, so let's keep this among us. Trust me, we love our little nugget of culinary awesomeness.

The ambiance is warm and the service is personable and stellar.

It serves up some of the tastiest sandwiches as only Affairs can serve up, such as a divine  or the much raved-about favorite, the Monte Cristo with Grand Marinier egg battered bread, two types of meats and cheeses and just enough raspberry jam to knock your socks off.

Aside from some of the best entrees in the South Sound region (let alone University Place) Affairs Cafe features freshly made chocolates and truffles and baked goods that would make the gingerbread man blush. This includes wedding cakes and beautiful and delicious catering for events.

You can choose to dine in, or if you're feeling saintly order a catered lunch for everyone at the office.

Jackie......We should tell everyone about Affairs Cafe! You are correct, it is a great place. I love when Gay (the owner) invites a local winery and then does a food pairing; that's excellent. You should not miss them. She is also a great asset to our community. She supports numerous community charities and I am proud to say she is a valued member of the Tacoma Narrows Rotary club.

I haven't heard of the wine/food pairings!!! love it. I admire establishments and their owners when they are actually an active participant in the community! I tell folks about Affairs constantly, writing about them is just another opportunity to do so. :) Thanks for sharing more of their goodness.
