It might not be Christmas or Thanksgiving, but that doesn't mean the family can't have fun this break.

The party, which takes place every 25th day of the month this year, takes place 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday and will include birthday-themed crafts and activities, and bubble parades. Plus, admission is only 25 cents.

Fircrest WheelZ Skate Arena will be open during the day for winter break, all week, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $6, including skate rental.
"Wrapped, The Search for the Essential Mummy," a new exhibit about the story of a Tacoma businessman Allen C. Mason, is at the Washington State History Museum in Tacoma. Mason went Egypt in the late 19th century and purchased the mummy of Ankh-Wennefer, aka "the WSHS Mummy." Over 250 artifacts are in this exhibit including engravings, ancient amulets, kitten mummies, and coffin cases. Admission is $25 for a family (two adults and up to four children). League of Education Voters is sponsoring a Lego building contest to see who can come up with the "best short video/Prezi/PowerPoint/Flash/whatever to show in simple terms how a bill becomes a law in the state of Washington by using Legos reenactments."
