Disability Advocate of the Year Awards Nominations Accepted Now Through Aug. 2

From the City of Tacoma:

Envisioning a community where opportunities for those with disabilities are comparable to those of the general population, the City of Tacoma’s Commission on Disabilities is accepting nominations for the Disability Advocate of the Year Awards now through Aug. 2, 2013. There are three award categories honoring individuals who have made a positive impact on quality of life for people with disabilities: Volunteer, Professional and Business.

“Tacoma is a great place to live because we work to ensure everyone, including those with disabilities, can live a fulfilling life,” said Commission on Disabilities Chair Gerrit Nyland. “Let us know about a person or organization you have noticed making a difference.”
