Three Annie Wright Musicians Chosen for All-State Orchestra

Annie Wright Schools has placed three of its orchestra members in the Washington Music Educators All-State Orchestra program, which will take place during President's Day weekend in February. Grade 8 violinist Casey Kim, Grade 9 violinist Aurora Hake and Grade 11 cellist Hyunyoung Kim all submitted recorded auditions in October which were judged against other entries from across the state. Our young musicians will all go to Yakima to rehearse and perform in orchestras formed from the state's top players.

Casey will participate Saturday, February 15, in an all-day Junior All State orchestra for 7th and 8th graders, starting rehearsal at 8:30 am and performing the concert by 4:30 on the same day. Aurora and Hyunyoung will start on Friday, February 14, and participate in a concert in Yakima's historic Capitol Theater on Sunday, February 16. Β

This marks the 10th consecutive year that Annie Wright has placed players in the program. For Hyunyoung, this will be her second year at All-State, equaling her sister Jooyoung's ('06) accomplishment eight years ago. Congratulations to these hardworking players on their wonderful achievement.
