Concerts in the Park: Maia Santell

Enjoy live jazz at the Curran Apple Orchard Park on Thurs., Aug. 8, 2013 at 6:30 p.m.

From the City of University Place:

Kick back, relax and enjoy the talented acts at the 2013 Curran Apple Orchard Summer Concerts!

Always a crowd pleaser, Maia Santell takes the stage in August singing some blues, jazz and swing favorites.

Maia Santell and House Blend consists of vocals, guitar, saxophone, bass and drums, and performs jazz, blues, Latin, swing, Motown, big band, nostalgia, classic rock and contemporary favorites. Known around the region as a "premier dance band," they perform a mix of styles, rhythms and tempos for ballroom and swing dancers, with a repertoire similar to that of the T.V. show, "Dancing with the Stars."

Maia's "House Blend" combo is a duo, trio, or full quartet, quintet or sextet, depending on the venue or the nature of the engagement. Whatever the size or composition of her accompaniment, Maia's vocal style is consistently swingin' and soulful.  The Summer Concert Series is held at the Curran Apple Orchard, 3920 Grandview Drive West. The music begins at 6:30 and concludes at 8 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the concerts will relocate to the Curtis Sr. High School Cafeteria.

Hotdogs and other goodies are available from the U.P. Kiwanis for purchase.
